Torea Frey is a collage and mixed media artist based in Clackamas, Oregon. She has been working with found papers, glue, and paint since the early 2000s, exploring the transformative potential of mundane materials. Her work, which often grapples with issues of language, gender, identity, and memory, has been shown in the US and abroad, at venues such as Slip Gallery (Seattle, Wash.), the Reece Museum (Johnson City, Tenn.), and the House of Music (Pardubice, Czech Republic). It has also been featured in publications including Cut Me Up magazine, Wilder Collage, About Place Journal, and Borderline Press. Frey has spent time in residence at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and at LOGE Camps, and in 2025 curated a collage-and-disability-arts show in Portland, Oregon. She is a member of the National Collage Society as well as the Northwest Collage Society, for which she has served on the board of directors.
