Collage-O-Rama at Seattle’s Slip Gallery

I’m over the moon to be part of Collage-O-Rama, an exhibit and event series from the Special Agent Collage Collective. This monthlong celebration of our compulsion to cut, rip, tear, glue, mashup, and remix includes a Slip Gallery exhibition of 1000+ pieces of collage art, almost 40 hours of workshops, and free opportunities for anyone to drop-in and create collages with all tools and materials provided.

It all kicks off on Friday, May 10, with an opening featuring music by Nanotomic and T-shirt screenprinting with Hope Amico. And on Saturday, May 11—World Collage Day—I’ll be presenting a workshop, Keep Swinging, from 1-4pm. I’ve made two custom art piñatas, and we’ll gather to bust them open, then make new collage art from the ephemera that spills out. It will be a joyful, fun-filled, scrappy good time.

Holding a papier-mache globe, one of the custom art piñatas I’ve crafted for the Keep Swinging World Collage Day Party, part of Collage-O-Rama at Slip Gallery in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

The show runs through June 9, and curator and organizer Andrea Lewicki has put together an amazing lineup of programming. If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, I urge you to check out one—or all!—of these upcoming workshops:

Slip Gallery is located at 2301 1st Avenue, Seattle, WA, 98121. See you there!
