Cut Me Up: Transitions collage show at Vassar

Pleased to have work in a show put on by the Vassar College Art Library and Cut Me Up Magazine. Cut Me Up: Transitions, an exhibition exploring the transformation of artwork through visual call and response, was on view from January 22 to March 28, 2025, at the Vassar College Art Library in Poughkeepsie, NY.

It highlights works from the 14 published issues of Cut Me Up Magazine, illustrating the multi-layered conversations that that emerge as artists transform and respond to one another’s work. Using the physical magazine and each issue’s curatorial prompt as a starting point, artists deconstruct, reimagine, and reconstruct the published artworks into entirely new creations.

My piece, which served as cover art for Issue 14, themed on the Japanese concept of Ma, is paired with a collage work by Katie Blake from the following issue. It’s a fascinating glimpse at the ways artists, and the context in which they work, build on what comes before, as well as influence what comes next, and I was delighted to be included.
