Two fall 2025 shows featuring speech suppression works

large scale collage composed of 35 pages from a banned book, with all text obscured or redacted by the use of white and offwhite squares, rectangles, and other shapes

Prompted by a wave of speech suppression efforts, I’ve been creating a series of works on paper that use banned books as substrate. Two of these pieces are on show at present: "She didn't like discomfort (4 chapters from a banned book)" appears in the Fletcher Exhibit of socially and politically engaged art at the Reece Museum, at East Tennessee State University, up through December 6, 2024, and “Whiteout” is in Decision ‘24 at Charles Adams Gallery in Lubbock, Texas.
